TRICK--Protect Profile with Groups and Screened Chat

Keep it Professional – Create Friends Lists and Groups to Enhance Security and Privacy: From the home page, in the upper left you should see the option to Edit My Profile under your profile photo. From there click on featured people in order to easily create groups and lists like family, friends, coworkers, etc. You can also create lists by selecting Edit Friends in the drop down menu from Account, then clicking the Create a List button.  Lists are a great tool to have at your disposal because you can customize each groups level of access to your profile.

TRICK--Update Facebook via SMS Text Messages

If you already have facebook synced with your phone you can send a status update by sending a text message to 32665.  Syncing your phone with facebook is a simple seven step process.

1-Login to facebook.

2-Click on Account, and account settings.

3-Click the Mobile tab.

4-you will see a link for “Register for Facebook Mobile Texts”. Click this link and fill out the information requested, including your cell phone number.

5-A text message with a confirmation code will then be sent to your phone.

6-Add in this confirmation code at the website listed in the text. At this point you are registered to update your Facebook message with texts.

WINDOWS TRICK--Create Keyboard Shortcut for Any Program in Windows

Shortcuts are an easy way to run and access certain programs. We use them to initiate the programs and perform certain operations or functionality that is widely used during the execution of the program. It becomes very cumbersome when we have to start our most frequently used programs using the standard procedure where we have to click on the Start menu to select it. 

In such scenarios shortcuts can become handy and you can use your own customized set of shortcuts that can be used for the invocation of certain programs. In the tutorial we will teach you how to create shortcut combination for Mozilla Firefox, you can do these steps for any installed program.

The following tutorial will help you in creating a shortcut for certain programs in Windows 7 that you use frequently. Also note that this tutorial will work for Windows XP too.

1. On the icon of the desired program situated on the Desktop, right click on it and select Properties from the right click menu.

2. On the tab panel, select the Shortcut tab from it. Then click on the shortcut key box.

3. Now select a combination of Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys with any alphabet, number or symbol.

TRICK--Block Facebook Applications

Are you regularly bombarded with unusual application requests from your friends? These requests make you install them or allow access before you can use them. Would you like to have a better control on these requests and permanently block some of them?

For those users who use Facebook as a medium for connecting with their friends and family do have a little interest in these Facebook applications can choose to disable some or all of the application platforms in a few simple steps. This will make their wall free from the requests and notifications of these applications in the future.

a.    To disable these applications, select the Privacy Settings from the Account button located on the upper right corner.

b.   At the bottom of the page there is Apps and Websites section and click on the Edit Your Settings link to customize the settings and select those apps from which you don’t wish to receive notifications.

c.    Then you must select those apps and games from where you don’t wish any notifications from. You can select any particular apps or turn off all of them at once.

d.   When you select some of them the following dialog will appear. Simply click on the Remove button to confirm your action.

You have successfully disabled your applications and you will not receive any notifications or request from these applications in future

TRICK-- Add your Facebook friends list to LinkedIn?

Thank you for the question. Well it’s not possible to import your Facebook friends to 

LinkedIn straight away as of now. Instead we will have to do it by using Yahoo. If u don’t own 

a Yahoo ID , create one and then follow these ----steps.

-Log into Yahoo with your ID and go to the contacts tab.

--Hit on import contacts option and authorize access to your Facebook account.

--Importing contacts from Facebook will take sometime. Wait for it to get completed.

--Now Log into your LinkedIn account and hit on the Add Connections button present at the top 

right corner of the home page.

--The subsequent page will prompt you to enter any email address from which you intend to import contacts. Enter your Yahoo account information there.

--Authorize access to Yahoo account and wait for the contacts to get imported.

--LinkedIn has this cool feature of classifying the imported contacts into two i.e people who 

already have LinkedIn accounts and those who don’t have one.

--The first step enables you to connect with those contacts who are already on LinkedIn. You just have to select them and click on the Add Connections button which will be present below.

--The next step allows you to invite the rest of your Facebook friends those who don’t use LinkedIn. To do so, select the contacts which you want and hit on the Invite Connections button.

That’s it. All done. You can find that invitations have been sent  to all those contacts which you 

selected.

TRICK-- Delete your Facebook account ?

Apparently, the Facebook account deletion process is straightforward. All you need to do is simply, login to Your Facebook account, then click Account and from the Deactivate section choose Deactivate.

That was easy, isn’t it? The only caveat is that Facebook won’t actually wipe out your account but just keep it inactive. Therefore if you want to permanently delete your account, you should manually do the following:

1- Delete your photo
2- Delete Comments and messages you wrote
3- Delete your friends from your friends list.
4- Leave all your networks and groups you have joined.
5- Delete all your photo albums.
If you want to reactivate your account, just login to Facebook with your email and password. You’ll be then instructed on the procedure to follow in order to reactivate the account.

TRICK-- avoid having Your Facebook profile indexed by search engines?

When someone searches for your profile on search engines (Google, Yahoo and Live for example) they'll hit your public search instance (that includes a thumbnail, your name as recorded on Facebook database, your regional network etc'). That's apparently what happened in the situation you mentioned. You can easily keep your online privacy by avoid having your public search listing crawled (and thus shown) by search engines. Please follow these steps in order to do so:

1-Login to your Facebook account

4-Now deselect the following statement: "Create a public search listing for me and submit it for search engine indexing."

5-Hit Save

Voi'la you have just made sure that your profile won't be showing up on search engines. If for whatever reason your profile is currently showing up on Google, Yahoo or other search engines, and you want to remove it from the search engine results, i recommend that you execute the above mentioned procedure. Then allow a month or so to have it removed from the search engine result pages.

People also love lists. If you check out the title to this post “7 Tips to Get Your Content…..”, you know exactly how much information you are about to get before you even read it.

2. People Share More on the Weekend

The difference in the number of shares on the weekend compared to during the week is actually pretty huge. This has a lot to do with the fact that Facebook is blocked at many company offices, and for good reason.

3. Certain Words Also get Shared More

Lucky us, the word Facebook is far and away the most shared. After that, people on the internet want to know “How” and “Why”, and they like sharing articles with the words “best” and “most”

4. There are Also Certain Words you Should Avoid

Facebook users are just your everyday people. They are not social media nerds. The words “Google”, “iPhone”, and “Twitter” are shared less than average.

5. Talk About Sex or other Good things

Sex sells, everybody knows that. It also gets shared more. So if you can add some kind of sexy edge to your content, I’d highly recommend it. If thats not entirely appropriate for your audience, then publish articles with a positive spin on them, as those get shared more then average as well.

TRICK---- Video Chat on Facebook

Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg today announced Video Calling feature on Facebook, powered by Skype. Facebook has also introduced Group Chat and have added some more features to Facebook Messages. The Video Calling feature will begin to roll to everyone from next week and is available in over 70 different languages. You can try video chatting with your friends now by going to facebook.com/videocalling.

To start video calling now, visit this page on Facebook and click Get Started.

Here’s how to video chat/call on Facebook:

Once you have clicked on “Get Started”, you will be asked to download and install a app. After the installation, all your Facebook pages will be automatically refreshed. Login to your chat and you can request any of your online friends to have a video chat by clicking on the “Video Call” button shown below.

The app will begin the calling process. The video chat will start once your friend answers your call. If you get any error while connecting, then probably your friend has not installed the app. Ask your friend to install the Video Calling app and once they have, you can re-try and start chatting!

The quality of the video chat isn’t as good as Google+ Hangout. Nothing big, no special features. It’s yet another video chat feature.

Both Facebook and MySpace have a very large network. MySpace obviously has many more users so why not advertise your Facebook account on your MySpace profile? You can create a Facebook link very easily and insert the link to appear on your MySpace profile. Follow the steps below to have this on your MySpace profile.
