Facebook's Chat does not allow you to talk with more than one person in the same Chat window, unless you have created a Facebook Group. When you create a group and add your Friends, you can open a Chat window for the group and whoever is currently online in the group can respond to your messages.

You can however, have more than one Chat window open at a time allowing you to have multiple conversations at once.
